Open your image editor. Click on Image on the menu bar. Then click on Mode. Then click on Grayscale. Lastly, click OK. And thats it. Like I said, control is limited with regards to the black and white features of the photo. Though what you can do is to adjust the brightness of the photo.

Ahh this is my favorite editing tool. There was a time when I had to put texts in graphics for this graphic novel gig I did before. Anyway, this editing tool is easily spotted in the tool palette as they are represented by the letter A or the letter T. I simply click on the tool icon and click on the photo where a cursor will appear. I then type in the text, adjusting the font and size as I wish. I just click on the Move tool if I want to re-position the text.

Vector is a term used in a graphic design. Its original context is SVG which stands for Scalable Vector Graphics. Scalable means even if you try to resize it, be it smaller or larger, the quality of the image or the pixels, will not be affected or deteriorated. It will still be the same, compared to Bitmap, that when you resize it, the quality is subjected to change resulting to blurry image. Vector is applicable to Logo designs and the like because if in case you needed to resize them for future use, you are completely able to do so. The quality will remain intact. The drawback in using vector is that it is not as fine as bitmap images or photographs do. Because vectors contain selectable regions only, meaning it is limited. In vector, the other detail such as fineness or color is not enriched or vivid compared to bitmap. Though you can manually achieve it, it will require you to go on pixel by pixel editing.

If we want to enhance an image by editing there are countless ways on how to do it. This is what we call as Post-Processing. What’s next are some basic , frequently used steps to manipulate and process digital images. Just a reminder, work on a replica of an original image so if in any case you mess up, just make another copy of the original and do the editing again.
If you wish to display a photo on a website, you need to enhance it a little further. It’s good not to over do the editing, since the photo may look unnatural and it can lose some detail. You always have the “undo” command if you don’t like the change you made.

Canon, Nikon, Apple, FujiFilm, Kodak, Olympus, Panasonic, Sony, Ricoh, Sanyo and Samsung are only a few of the companies that manufacture digital cameras (aside from their other gadgets like computer, TV, mobile phones and other appliances).

Digital camera allows its users to take hundreds, or even thousands of photos, depending on the capacity of the installed memory card. Transferring of photos to another device can also be done in just a few minutes. Photos taken from a digital source are by far easier to edit because if you scan a photo, chances are, the quality of the photo’s color might change depending on the DPI of the scanner. Some tools such as the wand (same color picking) can fall short.

Enhancing, cloning, smooth cropping, perfect image sizing, face cleansing and figure fixing are only a few of the many techniques you can do with Adobe System’s Adobe Photoshop. Adobe is currently one of the most successful companies to venture in photo editing applications.

This photo editor can do wonders in your pictures. It has other editing features that some photo editing programs can’t do. The outputs too of Adobe Photoshop (if used by a professional) are incomparable to the outputs of other photo editing programs. Adobe has released Photoshop programs, one after the other, and their latest release is the Adobe Photoshop CS3. Adobe Photoshop has been on the lips of companies and professionals.

Refreshing your computer is good for your machine. After that click the Start button, go to programs then to Accessories and click Paint. Your computer is not normal if there is no Paintbrush program.

Someone ask me. “Is the Paintbrush program an image editing software?” I was just quiet at that time, and after that I ask on myself, is it really a picture editing software? I said maybe it could because you can import pictures to the Paintbrush or simply called Paint program. Then I realized it is not because you just can import pictures and the only thing can do by the program is to draw and paint, other than that, no more.

If you are a new in photo editing and ask any professional what program to use, perhaps he or she will recommend you to use Ulead. Ulead is a very powerful tool, minus the complexity of the interface. Its latest program is the Ulead PhotoImpact and has received a lot of praises from photo editing gurus. The program has two editing modes: ExpressFix and Full Edit. ExpressFix is the tool for starters. With just a few clicks, you can edit a photo to your desired outcome. The Full Edit feature has three categories, namely enhancements, portrait touch-ups and effects. Ulead PhotoImpact interface is so easy to follow that you can edit like a pro in just a few minutes of familiarizing with the buttons.

Although photo editing programs nowadays seem to have all the basic (and advance!) editing tools a man needs, you have to keep in mind that not all the tools you see on the interface are beneficial. One of which is the cropping tool.

Before you start cropping all your images, you have to ask yourself, “Will the photo look better if I crop it?” If you answered no, then don’t. Sometimes, cropping results to a “cramped” photo. You have to keep in mind the nature of the photo’s subject. Sports photographers, for example, seldom use this tool because they feel the need of their photos to “breathe”. The action is not focused on the ball (in basketball for example) only but all the players surrounding the offensive player are vital.

Having one of the latest and best digital camera’s money can buy, one would surely have the annoying experience of having their pictures cropped, a missing head there, a half body there, why. Well, having the best camera and the latest ones assures that you get more pixels onto each image. The term mega-pixel means millions of pixels per image meaning the number of picture units. Imagine a 1 mega-pixel image to have 1 million dots of colors that makes up the whole image. Going further back, if you have ever been curious of the way your LCD screen or CRT TV works, get a magnifying glass and you get down to the individual pixels that makes up each and every image. the term RGB means the whole color spectrum is represented by red-green-blue, dots, varying their intensity gives you the many colors of the spectrum. All that comes down to millions of pixels or image units, the higher the number the finer the image.
The finer the image also means however much you zoom, you still have detail opposed to old cameras which blurred out to some extent when you zoom in. The development process does crop the image for they tend to revolve on the limitations of the amount of pixels they can fit onto one page. For example, a 5-R industry standard print can take something at the figure of 4-mega pixels but above that, they have to crop it a bit to fit the frame of the developing paper. If you do not specify which areas to crop, this is done by the developing machine without prejudice leaving you with a few missing heads, feet and more that should not have been cropped off.
