Cropping is probably the most potent arsenal in a photo editors bag of tricks. A lot of people think that cropping is just the most basic of photo editing procedures and is not as important as the other, more advanced skills of retouching and color correction. But ask any photographer and they’ll tell you that effective cropping can bring wonders to any photograph regardless of it was shot correctly or not.
The secret in cropping is that you can control how the subject is framed in the picture. For example, if the subject – a person – is situated right in the middle of the frame, it looks very boring. But if there is an interesting element in one of the sides, you can crop the picture so that the subject is on one side with the other interesting element on the other side, creating a contrast in framing that will make the photo more interesting.
Have you seen those photos with swishing light effects? Or perhaps photos that have different background colors and wondered how the photographer did that? You can edit the photos after, create color mixes at the subject’s background, change the mood of the photo and add special effects such as rain.

Canon, Nikon, Apple, FujiFilm, Kodak, Olympus, Panasonic, Sony, Ricoh, Sanyo and Samsung are only a few of the companies that manufacture digital cameras (aside from their other gadgets like computer, TV, mobile phones and other appliances).
Digital camera allows its users to take hundreds, or even thousands of photos, depending on the capacity of the installed memory card. Transferring of photos to another device can also be done in just a few minutes. Photos taken from a digital source are by far easier to edit because if you scan a photo, chances are, the quality of the photo’s color might change depending on the DPI of the scanner. Some tools such as the wand (same color picking) can fall short.

Enhancing, cloning, smooth cropping, perfect image sizing, face cleansing and figure fixing are only a few of the many techniques you can do with Adobe System’s Adobe Photoshop. Adobe is currently one of the most successful companies to venture in photo editing applications.
This photo editor can do wonders in your pictures. It has other editing features that some photo editing programs can’t do. The outputs too of Adobe Photoshop (if used by a professional) are incomparable to the outputs of other photo editing programs. Adobe has released Photoshop programs, one after the other, and their latest release is the Adobe Photoshop CS3. Adobe Photoshop has been on the lips of companies and professionals.

If your personal computer is supervised by the Microsoft Windows, then go open it. Right click in the desktop and click Refresh. Yes! Refreshing your computer is good for your machine. After that click the Start button, go to programs then to Accessories and click Paint. Your computer is not normal if there is no Paintbrush program.
Someone ask me. “Is the Paintbrush program an image editing software?” I was just quiet at that time, and after that I ask on myself, is it really a picture editing software? I said maybe it could because you can import pictures to the Paintbrush or simply called Paint program. Then I realized it is not because you just can import pictures and the only thing can do by the program is to draw and paint, other than that, no more.

Many of us who don’t want to be constantly fiddling with the tiny buttons of today’s digital cameras often get some shots that are, well, less than perfect. Most cameras today have automatic settings, adjusting everything automatically without much need for fiddling but one good tip for good, crisp and clear shots is to ensure your camera moves less during shots especially during low light settings where the flash may not have enough power to illuminate the subject. You can choose to set the camera for low light pictures but this is more for steady subjects that don;t move a round too much. Read the rest of this entry » »
For newbies to photediting ang manipulation, here are the few basic steps you need to get familiar with:

the cropping icon
1. Cropping. This refers to removing only the part of the picture you want. Even the most basic programs like paint have them. The icon with the rectangular broken lines or the square with the extended sides stands for the cropping tool.
2. Rotating. For photos taken vertically. Even the Windows photoviewer gives the option to rotate counterclockwise or clockwise.
3. Resizing. This is where you make the picture smaller – which is what you should do when you’re only using them for the web. High resolution images are only useful if you want to print them in large formats.
4. Enhancing brightness and contrast.
This is a bit trickier, but once you find the adjustment bar in whatever software you’re using, you can darken or lighten pictures at you liesure.

There are people who refuse to embrace photo editing as one vital aspect of digital photography in coming up with a great photo. Editing has been part of the film photography for the last 150 years. When you send your pictures to a developing lab require much work for the photo technician. He has to adjust exposure or crop out something. Editing gives life to the otherwise raw photos. One important factor in an image is exposure. Correct exposure can either break or make a picture. Underexposure and overexposure is the most common problem you will encounter. Luckily, you can edit exposure through the photo editor’s Histogram Level. Try that out in your photo editing program, may it be the Photoshop or some other editing programs.
